Women Visionaries of National Geographic

The Allentown Art Museum is currently showing an exhibition called “Women of Vision: National Geographic Photographers on Assignment”. The eleven women featured are all National Geographic photographers who were on assignments all over the world. Lynsey Addario, Kitra Cahana, Jodi Cobb, Diane Cook, Carolyn Drake, Lynn Johnson, Beverly Joubert, Erika Larsen, Stephanie Sinclair, Maggie Steber, and Amy Toensing are the photojournalists that gave us a glimpse into other cultures across the globe.

From the beaches of the Jersey shore to the war-torn streets of Libya to the rain forests of New Guinea, these eleven women captured compelling and intimate moments. Some of the photographs include an up-close look at Africa’s wildlife, photos of the human condition, and landscapes. Most noteworthy, the exhibit showcases over 100 photographs. The exhibition runs through April 8th, 2018. You can find out more information on this phenomenal photo series here.
