Lehigh Valley IronPigs Kick off the Season at Home on April 12th!

Baseball season is right around the corner! The Lehigh Valley home team, the IronPigs, will kick off the 2018 season at home field, Coco-Cola Park in Allentown! They will be facing the Louisville Bats on their opening night. Game nights feature a diverse selection of food and beverages, entertainment for all ages, fireworks, and fun! Not only does the stadium host baseball games, it also hosts many different events! Some upcoming events include the Food Truck Festival, Hispanic Heritage Nights, and Pride in the Park!

Events at the Park!

The 2018 Coca-Cola Park Food Truck Festival will take place on May 19th! The event will be divided into two sessions, one from 12-3 p.m. and the other from 5-8 p.m. The festival will feature close to 40 different food trucks and a wide selection of craft beers and mixed drinks. Tickets are now available starting at $15 for adults and $10 for children 12-and-under. Each ticket includes access to the event, complimentary parking and a $5 food voucher that can be redeemed at any food truck! The Lehigh Valley IronPigs will host a two-night Hispanic Heritage Celebration on May 23rd and 24th at Coca-Cola Park. The IronPigs will wear “tocino”, bacon, caps and jerseys for their games versus Rochester. The Pigs’ celebration will include Hispanic-themed music, entertainment, and food. The night will also include a jersey auction in which the proceeds will go to the Fe Foundation which delivers educational and community development programs of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of the Lehigh Valley. On June 14th the Lehigh Valley IronPigs will host Pride in the Park Night for their contest against the Pawtucket Red Sox. LGBT Pride Night, presented by Air Products in partnership with Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center, is the first such night in IronPigs history. The first openly gay Major League player, Billy Bean, will make an appearance. The event will focus on promoting inclusion and diversity. Fans who wish to donate a portion of their ticket proceeds to Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center can purchase special tickets here.

Easter is only a few days away! Easter Sunday is for celebrating with friends, family, and food. The Lehigh Valley is serving up ham, lamb, potatoes, brunch, seafood and other Easter treats. Here are some restaurants in the Valley that are serving special meals for the Holiday! Reservations are recommended for these most note worthy egg – cellent restaurants!

The Borderline Family Restaurant in Bethlehem is serving up baked Virginia Ham, oven – roasted chicken, and baked haddock. Also, whipped potatoes, baked ziti, green beans, and whole baby carrots from noon – 6 p.m. on Sunday. Call 610 – 419 – 3715 for reservations.

Buddy V’s Ristorante in Bethlehem will be serving up some Easter specials including strawberry and avocado salad, braised lamb shank, seafood ravioli, and carrot cake. Prices vary for the specials. Call 484 – 777 – 4283 for reservations.

The Dime in Allentown will feature brunch with baked goods, a smoked salmon platter, made to order omelets and pancakes, eggs Benedict, smoked ham, and more. Call 484 – 273 – 4010 for reservations.

The Hamilton Kitchen & Bar in Allentown will be serving up a buffet with prime rib, maple glazed ham, turkey breast, omelet and pasta stations, quiche, seared salmon, whipped sweet potatoes, carrot cake, and more. Call 610 – 433 – 3535 for reservations.

Copperhead Grille in Allentown and Upper Saucon Township will be serving up brunch with Easter ham and cheese empanadas, short rib and horseradish cheddar omelet, bananas Foster french toast, crab eggs Benedict, and bottomless bloody Marys and mimosas. SouthSide Art & Music Celebration

April is right around the corner! The SouthSide Arts & Music Festival features two days, April 20th & 21st, of live entertainment, music, and visual art. The festival centers around SouthSide Bethlehem’s restaurants, shops, and galleries for attendees to stop in and see what SouthSide has to offer!

The festival will have over 30 musical acts over the two-day art extravaganza! The live performances will be held at venues in SouthSide which include Color me mine, Domaci, Molly’s Irish Grille & Sports Pub, and Soto Santi. ArtsQuest is partnering with Lehigh Valley Underground this year to showcase the musical talent of the Lehigh Valley. Here’s a sneak peek at some of the following fantastic artists that will be performing – Mike Mains, Mr. Sipp, The Infamous Stringdusters, The Novel Ideas, and Delta Rae. The musical performances have something for everyone! Pop artists, country singers, indie bands, and rock performers will all be on the stage.

Along with fantastic music and beautiful art, there will also be plenty of food at this event! The food trucks and vendors have you covered. Festival attendees can snack on appetizers at the Musikfest Cafe, try different imported beers and wines at Mike and Ike Bistro, and get their grilled cheese fix at the Fud Truck at the Banana Factory. The event will run from 6:00 PM – 11:00 PM on April 20th and from 2:00 PM – 11:30 PM on April 21st. You can check out the musical lineup, free art and music, and the fee-based art activities here.
